Raspberry Tiramisu-Inspired Dessert

🍓 Raspberry Tiramisu-Inspired Dessert

A luscious layered dessert with raspberry jam, silky cream cheese filling, and soft milk-dipped ladyfingers. Made with cream cheese and sour cream instead of mascarpone — and irresistibly delicious.

🍰 Ingredients

Cream Layer

  • 200 g (7 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 150 g (⅔ cup) full-fat sour cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Raspberry Layer

  • 1 cup (320 g) raspberry jam
  • 2–3 tbsp (30–45 ml) water or lemon juice (to loosen)

Ladyfinger Layer

  • 18–20 ladyfingers
  • ½ cup (120 ml) milk

Garnish

  • Fresh raspberries
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder or finely grated chocolate

🍳 Preparation

Step 1: Prepare the Raspberry Layer

Gently warm the raspberry jam and stir in water or lemon juice until thick but spoonable. Let cool completely before assembling.

Step 2: Make the Cream

Beat softened cream cheese until completely smooth. Add sour cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Mix gently until creamy and well combined.

Step 3: Assemble the Dessert

Spoon raspberry jam into the bottom of each serving glass. Quickly dip ladyfingers into milk (about 1 second per side) and break to fit. Add a layer of ladyfingers followed by cream. Repeat layers: jam → ladyfingers → cream. Finish with a smooth layer of cream on top.

Step 4: Chill

Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.

Step 5: Garnish & Serve

Dust lightly with cocoa powder or grated chocolate, top with fresh raspberries, and serve well chilled.

💡 Tips & Tricks

  • Use full-fat sour cream for the best texture and flavor.
  • Ensure cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps.
  • Do not over-soak ladyfingers — they soften very quickly.
  • If the cream feels too soft, chill it for 15–20 minutes before layering.
  • Use cold milk for better control while dipping.

❓ FAQ

Can I make this ahead of time?

Yes. It tastes even better after resting overnight in the refrigerator.

Why use milk instead of coffee?

Milk creates a softer, kid-friendly flavor while keeping the dessert light and balanced.

Can I make it less sweet?

Reduce the powdered sugar to 1½ tablespoons if preferred.

Can I assemble it in one large dish?

Yes. Use an 8×8-inch (20×20 cm) dish and layer the ingredients the same way.
